Plan Release Event for the Better Oral Health for Massachusetts Coalition
Oral health leaders, advocates and legislative supporters witnessed the release event of the Better Oral Health for Masssachusetts Coalition plan to improve oral health in the Commonwealth. At the standing-room only event, leaders of prominent organizations in the oral health community and beyond commended the members of the Coalition for a job well done and charged all attendees to join their organizations in working according to the plan.
Better Oral Health for Massachusetts Coalition 2010 Launch
First statewide meeting for 2010, attended by nearly 80 Coalition members. We recieved a tremendous amount of feedback from attendees on the plan draft so far, which included goals, objectives and action steps drafted in the workgroups. We also heard from the Office of Oral Health on the newly released Oral Health Status of Massachusetts document, and from the Coalition’s Design Advisory Committee on changes to be made to our operating guidelines as we prepare to implement our plan to improve oral health in Massachusetts.
Community Feedback Meetings for the Better Oral Health for Massachusetts Coalition
Community feedback meetings were held by hosts from various communities all over the state. Representatives from the Design Advisory Committee and other members of the Coalition met with community and special groups in seven different locations in meetings with attendance ranging from 12 to 60+. Better Oral Health for Massachusetts Coalition Second Statewide Meeting, 2009
Second statewide meeting for 2009, attended by 95+ Coalition members. After presentations from the Workgroup co-chairs and breakout sessions to receive feedback and suggestions from the Statewide Coalition on the various sections of the goals and objectives of the plan, the statewide Coalition endorsed the work done so far. Upcoming community meetings were also discussed.
Better Oral Health for Massachusetts Coalition 2009 Launch
First statewide meeting for 2009, on Thursday, March 5. This full-day gathering was attended by nearly 80 members of the Coalition. The meeting was a successful beginning to the work of creating a plan for Massachusetts, with discussions on the Coalition’s structure, workgroups and leadership led by the Coalition facilitator, and the first breakout session for the newly formed workgroups. Follow-up workgroup meetings and the next statewide gathering were scheduled by the end of the day.
Partners and Sponsors Meeting for the Better Oral Health for Massachusetts Coalition
Breakfast Meeting on Monday, September 8th, 2008 from 8am to 10am at the UMASS Club, 225 Franklin Street, 33rd Floor, Boston, MA. Commissioner Auerbach of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health kicked off the meeting, followed by discussions by the 43 attendees on charting the next steps in moving the Coalition forward.
Better Oral Health for Massachusetts Two Day Summit - The Vision
Over 200 individuals involved in oral health in Massachusetts, including community programs and organizers, dentists, dental hygienists, physicians, professional organizations, legislators and policy makers from Massachusetts and other New England states attended this leadership summit to discuss opportunities and concerns. This is the first in a series of sessions to take place over the coming months as the oral health community in the Commonwealth prepares to create an Oral Health Plan that meets the needs of all Massachusetts residents.
Better Oral Health for Massachusetts Two Day Summit - The Children
Presenters provided data demonstrating how to design and implement school-based and community-based oral health education and dental treatment programs, with emphasis on successful models for reaching vulnerable children.
